Training

Program description

The NFUSC offers boys and girls from the ages of eight to fifteen years old the opportunity to attend 90 minute training sessions or camps with a professional soccer training academy.  Currently our Club has engaged the training services of Colonial Sports Group (CSG) led by Andreas Lindberg (currently the head Coach of Seton Hall Pirate Men's Soccer team).  Our Club Trainer and Developmental Coordinator is Marco DaFonte.   The training programs are offered four separate times of the year.  The Fall and Spring sessions  (1.5 hours each) occur on a weekly basis at either the Aldrich Lane Facility or Cutchogue Fields (Elementary School or Admin Offices) for a total of ten (10) sessions from September to November.  Our Winter training program consists of 1 hour sessions at the Mattituck High School gymnasium for seven (7) weeks starting in January and ending in February.  The Summer Program is a twelve (12) hour camp held at either the Aldrich Lane Facility or Cutchogue West Fields (Admin Offices) that runs from Monday to Thursday (3 hours/day) and is offered in two sessions; the first session in last week of June and the second session the third week of July.

The training program itself will work on player’s foot skills, ball control, defense and various other parts of the game.   The NFUSC will work closely with the training academy to offer goalie and finishing clinics as well during the Summer.

The NFUSC wants to offer training year round and this program is an alternative to registering with one of our travel soccer teams.  Our Club appreciates other “in-season” sports and the conflicts that exist with committing to a travel program.  This is a great option to increase soccer skills and maintain a year round commitment to the sport of soccer without the time commitment of other programs.

North Fork United Soccer Club’s training program cost is very competitive to the rest of the Island.  The fee covers insurance, field or court use fee and the training services of our professional soccer training academy.   All participants in the training programs are expected to wear cleats, shin guards and bring the appropriately sized soccer ball to each training session.

Spring Soccer Training Program for U-9 to U-16 Aged Players

North Fork United Soccer Club is excited to announce soccer training program for this Spring.  Our Club’s professional trainer, Colonial Sports Group, will conduct ten (10) 90 minute training sessions starting the second week of April and ending the last week of June.  The Club understands the conflicts that in-season sports pose and will try to complement other sport schedules to the extent possible.  The sessions will be on weekdays (only) between 4:15PM and 7:30PM at the Aldrich Lane Ballfield Facility in Laurel.   The purpose of this training program is to build and maintain soccer skills without having to be associated with a Spring travel soccer team.
