The NFUSC is committed to the youth of our community.  We offer boys and girls from four to seven years old the opportunity to attend developmental training sessions with a professional soccer training academy.  Currently, our Club has engaged the training services of Colonial Sports Group (CSG) led by Andreas Wilsberg (Marco DaFonte - Developmental Coordinator & Club Trainer).   The developmental training programs are separated into 4 & 5-year-old and 6 & 7-year-old groups.  Similar to our other training programs, the NFUSC has developmental sessions four times during the year.

MINI’s Program

Program description

The NFUSC is committed to the youth of our community.  We offer boys and girls from the ages of four to seven years old the opportunity to attend developmental training sessions with a professional soccer training academy.  Currently our Club has engaged the training services of Colonial Sports Group (CSG) led by Andreas Wilsberg (Marco DaFonte - Developmental Coordinator & Club Trainer).   The developmental training programs are separated into 4 & 5 year old and 6 & 7 year old groups.  Similar to our other training programs the NFUSC has developmental sessions four times during the year.

The 4 & 5 year old developmental program is an introduction to the sport of soccer.  It’s a great way for young children to socialize and interact with others while learning the principles of the sport.   The training academy uses fun-orientated drills to build motor skills and coordination.  The Fall and Spring programs for 4 & 5 year old players occur on a weekly basis at the Aldrich Lane Facility for a total of six (6) sessions (45 minutes each session) from September to the end of October.  The Winter program consists of one-hour sessions at the Mattituck High School gymnasium for 7 weeks starting in January and ending in February.  The Summer Program is a five (5) week developmental program that consists of a one hour training session per week starting in early July.

The 6 & 7 year old developmental program focuses on building upon the basic skills taught in the earlier program and introduces competing with other groups in a game setting.   The first one-hour training session during the week (typically Tuesdays) is training while the second hour later in the week (typically Fridays) is considered the “game day”.   6 & 7 year olds are broken into groups of 6 to 8 players and compete against each other each of the six (6) weeks during the Fall & Spring programs.    The training academy continues to use fun-orientated drills to enhance coordination and build soccer skills but focuses on preparing seven year old for travel soccer.  The Winter program consists of one-hour sessions at the Mattituck High School gymnasium for 7 weeks starting in January and ending in February.  The Summer Program is a five (5) week developmental program that consists of a one hour training session per week starting in early July or a four day (12 hour) camp that runs the last week in June (Session 1) or the third week in July (Session 2).  Camps rely upon a minimum enrollment of 10 by this age group.

In addition to children of the North Fork communities meeting each other through soccer, the developmental program offers a great way for parents and guardians to socialize as well.  The NFUSC values the children of our close-knit communities here on the North Fork and wants to engage boys and girls from ages 4 to 7 with a sport that they will play for many years.

North Fork United Soccer Club’s developmental program cost is very competitive compared to the rest of the Island.  The fee covers insurance, field or gym use fee and the training services of our professional soccer training academy.   All participants in the training programs are expected to wear cleats or sneakers, shin guards and bring the appropriately sized soccer ball to each training session.
